Training that teaches your team to make their own marketing videos on a phone
This training is for teams who are no longer happy with 500 viewers per post. Mäksä and the Höyrymedia team make more than 200 short-form videos a month for businesses.
We bring you the best practices we've learned from thousands of videos.

Who is the training for?
The process from start to finish
Not just theory: you learn by doing. In one day. In pairs. On a phone. You'll get answers to the following questions.
- Where do I find ideas and topics for videos? Together we'll build a list of 50 video ideas for your channels. You'll see what people search for on Google and ask AI tools about you and your industry.
- Using AI in video production. Many people know how to ask ChatGPT for 10 video ideas, but the training shows you how to turn them into social media concepts that actually work, rather than generic "3 tips for using product X" ideas.
- The three-second rule for building opening hooks that stop people scrolling.
- The single mistake that makes 9 out of 10 company videos invisible. The easiest fix takes 30 seconds per video.
- Proven examples of company content that has caught people's interest and driven measurable sales.
- A script template that lets anyone on your team film their first video in 20 minutes. No previous experience needed.
- Camera nerves, conquered. At the end of the day, you'll make demo videos in pairs and overcome the fear Finns dread most: performing in front of others.
- Editing videos on a phone with no previous experience. What are the best tools, and how do you use them?
- The best video kit for under €500. Easy-to-use microphones and lights for beginners.
- Publishing and next steps: how to publish content to every platform in a few clicks and schedule your next shoot days, so the work doesn't stop after the training day.

Myyntihype
Elias "Mäksä" Mäkinen spoke at Mika D. Rubanovitsch's Myyntihype event about how to build an expert brand with short-form video.

Elias "Mäksä" Mäkinen
I started out making short-form videos. No camera, no budget, just a phone and an idea.
25 million views later, I noticed that the algorithm favours a kind of content that Finnish brands don't make: influencer-style content designed to be watched without any ad spend.
I founded Höyrymedia on that insight, and I want to share everything I've learned with you. I'm not a fan of high-level jargon. I'd rather roll up my sleeves and get stuck in. That's how you learn best.

Jani Puumalainen
As a trainer, I'm very hands-on. I've learned by making thousands of videos, both for myself and for clients.
As a content specialist at Höyry, I have an unusually broad view of the Finnish marketing scene, and I see how surprisingly often the same things hold growth back.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. The day is designed so that working in pairs takes away the nerves of being on camera. One person films, the other presents. Anyone who is firmly against it can focus on scripting, ideas and editing. In the long run, though, it helps if someone on the team is keen to be on camera. It's a familiar situation, and we can help with that too.
No, you don't have to. Everything is done on a phone, editing included. Software may cost a few tens of euros, and if you want to take your videos to the next level, you can get microphones and lights for under €500.
If you want visibility fast, having us make the videos is the more efficient route. If you don't have the budget for ongoing production, training is a great solution. For many clients, a combination of the two works best, and they don't rule each other out.
A workshop is hands-on and takes a full day. A keynote works well at an event and usually lasts 15–30 minutes. It gives an inspiring overview of what's new in marketing.
Yes. Mäksä has given several talks to audiences of more than a thousand people.
No. Our clients get millions of views every month with phone-edited videos. Editing on a phone is easier and faster, which means more videos get published.
5–20 people works best.
Yes. Many of our clients start with training and later bring in our turnkey production for support. Of course, the training doesn't commit either of us to working together afterwards.
Both. Most internet traffic is video, and both B2C and B2B companies benefit from that. We've run training for everyone from big consumer brands to B2B sales teams and entrepreneurs.
We only take on a limited number of workshops each year
Mäksä and Jani only have so much room in their diaries. Preparing a workshop takes 1–2 days beforehand. Each session is tailored, and we want to keep the quality high.
We can only run 2 workshops a month. If you're interested in training, book a call now rather than waiting for a better moment. That way we can work with you to tailor the most useful package possible.
